I am Licensed!

Many congratulations! I was 15 and in the middle of Driver’s Ed courses when I was in a pretty bad accident with my mom (another driver blew a red light, three cars totaled, kids ejected from a vehicle – bad). It scared me off of driving until I was 18, even though I’d been really excited about getting my license up to that point. So I have a bit of understanding of how that can impact you.

Very glad to hear you’re on the other side now and enjoying your freedom! Many safe journeys ahead for you!

I had to take driving lessons at age 25 as I had almost no previous driving experience. Rest assured that it gets easier the more you practice. For the first year I was paranoid about drifting out of my lane. Now I don’t have to think about it. But I definitely made some bonehead moves that first year, so be careful until you get more experience. I just wish there was a hand gesture that means, “I now realize that I just made a highly illegal maneuver; sorry!”

AWWWWW! Just think how happy doggy will be when mommy takes him/her out for ice cream!!! You’ll be like the best doggy mommy evah!!!

Oh, and congrats!

Much appreciation for the kind words. I am deeply sorry you also had a traumatizing experience, Asimovian. It’s hard to see how deadly vehicles can be. I was with my husband (then boyfriend) we hydroplaned and landed upside down in a ditch that held 4 feet of water. We weren’t wearing our seatbelts, but the police later told us that they would not have released if we had them on. He pulled me out and almost killed me and saved my life on the same day. Surprisingly though, I never ride in a car without a seat belt.

Erdosain, I know what you mean about apologizing for my mistakes! Luckily, I don’t attempt any risky maneuvers and remind myself to never be too confident in my abilities. Anything can happen and it doesn’t necessarily mean it would be my fault. But being cautious of everyone else is what I’ve been working on.

Thanks swampbear! My Maggie will adore me for her treat. I don’t have children yet, but I do consider to have a fur baby. She’s my world.
