As my FB friends will know, I have purchased some highland estate in Scotland and with it came a title. I have the papers as proof.
I own the land in perpetuity. That the size of the estate is rather small is of no consequence. Well, it is only 1 square foot.
However, I do have the title deeds as “Lord of Glencoe”.
I expect no special treatment from the Mods due to my newly elevated status.
Of course I am now in training for my “droit du seigneur”
When you build your 3rd castle, I’m totally going to lay siege to it and burn it down until it sinks into the swamp!

That droit de seigneur is kinda awesome. First crack at any local bride who lives on your land! 
I’m not sure I’m going to find too many maidens on 1 square foot. And with my luck they’d all look like Susan Boyle anyway.

You of course realise that because of your station in life you MUST go out attired in full Highland dress on a daily basis, and the dress regulations apply to what is not worn under the kilt as well, not pleasant on a draughty day I’d imagine.

It’s been a while since we’ve been able to levy new feu duties, but feudal tenure was only abolished in 2004.
Does any other country get sold off foot by foot? Does anyone with Irish roots have a foot or so in Ireland?

The disputable Scottish tightness is a myth. It originated as a Glaswegian joke about Aberdonians. In reality most Scotsmen I have met have generally been much too generous for their own good.
So do I and they pay me rent (but I have to go to Islay to collect it).
