Okay listen to this story and please tell me who you think is right. I know this family(not mine i swear) and they have never really kept a pet .They Get pets and when they get tired of them they have them put to sleep , They never try to find homes they just have them killed. This has happened with about 4 pets already ,now this family grandmother got her own cat to live her and not them. Well now this family is moving far away and they want to take their grandmothers cat with them ,Because their 7 year old daughter just has to have a new animal to torment.Well, when i found this out i had a total cow and freaked out because i know this cat and i know this family .It doesnt take a genuis to put two and two together and figure out that, that cat will be put to sleep in less than a month . these people dont even let these animals have a chance not one of them has ever lived past a year old . please say that you aggree with me when i say that killing innocent puppies and kittens is wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This looks like it should be in the pit. (although I think it would have no hope competing with the kitten-torture thread) I agree with you though. We (as a family) have only ever had one pet put-down. and that was out of euthenasia (it was a dog who had become so old that it had no quality of life) we never get tired of our pets. I personaly would never get tired of cats.
If the events you describe are indeed true, there are a number of animal protection agencies to whom you could report this family. Try the ASPCA, Dumb Friends League, or the local vet. Will it do any good? Maybe.
I doubt you will encounter many people who think the events you describe are anything but reprehensible.
Yup, these people sound like a right bunch of fucking eedjits.
Oops, did I say “fucking”? That means this thread belongs in the Pit!
Okay these people dont kill the animals themselves but they have had four puppies and kittens put down for no reason and i mean no reason at all , they didnt go to the bathroom on the floor or chew stuf or anything
Yeah, well… thats why I put that “maybe” in there. The best anyone could hope to do is provide a clear pattern of behavior and seek some minor punitive action against them. Something like, “As you can see by these vetrinary records judge, this family has a clear track record of euthanizing a pet every 6 months under questionable circumstances…” The cold, hard reality of it is that there really isn’t anything that can be done to these people-- perhaps some minor fines. Life sucks, don’t it?
Even if they had been chewers or had problems with housebreaking, euthanasia is NOT the appropriate response. Very few young animals are irredeemable, as long as you’re able to deal with them patiently training comes pretty natural. Frankly, these people sound like assholes, and they are teaching their children a horrible lesson about both respecting life and living up to their responsibilites. Could you speak to the grandmother–you know, the owner of the cat–and appeal to her not to allow the animal to be taken away?
