I Am SICK of that Ford Truck "Start Me Up" Ad!

I hate the newer Ford commercial referenced by BrandonR above. The guy’s voice really sucks, and the song really sucks, and they play the thing repeatedly during American Idol, when presumably folks are on the lookout for bad singers singing bad songs badly.

I can actually tolerate Randy Newman (partly because his songs are catchy, partly because his father wrote one of the greatest jingle-thingys the world has ever known), although it would be funny if a group of maurading short people killed him as revenge.

Regarding the OP, the song snippet used goes:

If you start me up,
Start me up,
I don’t stop

Why would anyone want to buy a car that can’t brake?

Same here; never been happier than when I’m diagramming.

~Ferry

*Well, I bought it up
Brand new Explorer, man, it’s really tough
But I can’t fill it up
They say my bank account is not enough

It only gets
Ten M-P-G
I’ll have to get myself a brand… new… machine!*

I just saw the Start Me Up commercial yesterday, and actually paid attention this time thanks to this thread. (I’m a Chevy fan, myself). Anyway, why would a car company use a song that contained the line “If you start me up, I’ll never stop”? Does Ford have faulty ignition systems? Do their brakes fail routinely?

It sort of reminds me of the old joke, “We stand behind our brake jobs, because if we stood in front of them, we might get run over”

Sorry mobo , I just re-read your post. :smack:

I loved the canoe cut bread at Subway. It was practically the only reason I went to eat at Subway, and I was disappointed as all hell that they quit doing that. I’ve not been back.

By the way, the time whilst driving down the road is not the time to be eating a sub. The idea of driving is to… oh, fuck… help me out on this one… wait… I know it…

DRIVE.

I feel no sympathy to someone who bitches about their sandwich falling apart as they attempt to eat it while driving. Y’know what? those types of distractions also lead to accidents, so stop the car for ten fucking minutes and eat the sandwich.
