I am so sick of loud motorcycles

[aside]What were formally categorized as “sociopathic” traits in the early versions of the DSM are since the DSM-III (1980) a form of (ie a subset along a spectrum of) Antisocial personality disorder. Just as there were different subcategories of sociopaths, there is s spectrum of Antisocial behavior, some more severe than others. What you may have previously called a “narcissistic sociopath”, you might now refer to as a “reputation-defending antisocial.” In any case, the term “sociopath” is more convenient and understood in social contexts, and it is what I use colloquially. My nitpick is with the difference between “sociopath” and “psychopath,” which is largely of only historical interest. The terms are basically synonymous. BTW, in the upcoming DSM-V, the category might be changed again to “Antisocial/Psychopathic Type”, because a lot of people still like and use the former name and criteria and aren’t completely satisfied with the new definitions. Here are the DMS-IV criteria, if you want to compare them with your perception of Bambro, who certainly satisfies #7[/aside]

Your problems with loud pipes have only just begun.

Beware.

I did read the quoted post. Just a response

[final aside] Thanks for the info! Tho is seems to me that sociopath is a more correct term than antisocial personality disorder.

[/final aside]

Do they have special loudspeakers on electric bikes? To make them emit noise?
An electric bike must be dangerous-they are so quiet.

The other day I heard a loud motorcycle. The guy was also playing music really loud. Adele. I like Adele, but her voice sounds horrible against the roar of a motorcycle engine. And the Doppler effect sure doesn’t help.

I was walking when he passed me. I turned onto another street ten minutes later, and he passed me going in the other direction. Still playing Adele. I didn’t even know motorcycles had sound systems.

like this one?

I’m not a bumper sticker kind of gal, but I might reconsider for that.

People today are a bunch of whiny ass sally’s. Oh my god lets not offend someone, an angel will lose its wings. Seriously suck it up, the world doesn’t revolve around any individual and as a free man it is my right to do whatever I please, (at least until it’s all regulated away), as long as I don’t HARM another person. As far as your feelings go, I.E. I feel offended because of _______ <—insert offense here, nobody cares about your wittle bitty feelings. This is a free Country if you don’t like freedom move. Stop crying about what offends you, BE A MAN keep that shit to yourself.
and for the love of God please stop asking for more government regulation, I.E. “I wish the cops would crack down” don’t you think we are regulated enough???

Anyhow my 2 cents

Cobra22 out.

You signed up especially to post this shit?

Seriously, suck it up. The world doesn’t revolve around you and as free people, it’s our right to bitch and complain about your inconsiderate behavior, as long as it doesn’t HARM anybody.

Maybe if you actually took other people into consideration AT ALL, there wouldn’t be so many calls for regulations. Didn’t anybody ever teach you manners? If they had, there wouldn’t be a need to have somebody with a gun and nightstick force you to actually show some.

Oh I can capitalize too.
Waking me up at 2am IS HARMING me. So suck my dick.
People like you…I want your every fucking move regulated.

Do snotty Critical Mass twenty-somethings on fixies become blubbery middle-age Harley riders, and then go on to be palsied seniors blocking traffic with McMansion-on-wheels Winnebagos? Is there a remedy through forced sterilization?

I might be more on board with this pitting than any other in the history of the forum.

I wouldn’t pay you that much. People like you think your freedom to do whatever the hell you want trumps other people’s freedom likewise. All your ranting about sucking it up and the world not revolving around individuals applies to you also. You’re just too self centered to realise the implications. Implications are for other people to suffer, right? Not you.

I’m a middle aged guy who rides a bike, and it is not a loud pipes cruiser. I fucking hate loud pipes. My bike sounds docile, but it will actually toast any thumping cruiser out there.

As a rider, I fucking hate the negative image that gets attached to all of us because of the seemingly huge percentage of riders that come across as absolute dicks.

You know what saves lives? Knowing how to ride safely, wearing bright colored armor, and not being a prick.

Oh, and by the way, my bike idles quite nicely, no blipping of the throttle required to keep it from sputtering.

Get back under your bridge, troll.

Strike first.
Strike hard.
Show no mercy.

COBRA KAI!!!

Whoopsie, I wet myself.

Amusingly, the “I like loud pipes so fuck you” attitude seems to be the exact opposite of what actual motorcycle organizations and companies are promoting:

When the major civic and commercial leaders of your hobby activity are criticizing your habits as selfish and harmful, you really have to be some kind of utterly self-centered asshole to say “who cares, I can do whatever I want”.

If nothing but bans on motorcycles will bring these people to their senses, well, I’m ready to vote. Sadly, because most of the non-noisy bikers I’ve met out on the road are actually very nice. And as a cyclist, I appreciate them as fellow proponents of the “share the road” message and because they don’t take up lots of space and crowd me on the shoulder.

I hope not. I get what you’re saying - bicyclists who get their jollies tying up traffic while pretending moral righteousness - but it really hurts my worldview to think those people became overweight Harley riders.

I am stealing this.
