I am starting law school...

Yes, he left right before I started 1L last year. I have some friends a year ahead of me that had him. Actually, a LOT of people have left the lawschool, esp. in the past year.

So far I’ve had:

Carlos Ball (left)
Charles Tabb (now a dean)
Adjunct-Chris Moore
Etienne (newish)
Daria Roithmayr (left)
Mark Brown
Nowak is still here, though. AND Francis Boyle (hee hee hee).

I’m going through orientation right now, and the other students seem to be nice and friendly, so that worry has dropped away. However, one of the 2Ls asked if I was married and I said yes. He said to be careful because a lot of people get divorced in law school.

Thanks SO much for reminding me of one of my worst fears. Sheesh!

I have spoken to my husband about it, and told him how worried I was about not spending enough time with him. He said that once I make friends there he would be interested in hanging out with us, but he didn’t want to distract me from my goals at this early stage. I have the feeling that we will be able to strike a pretty good balance between time together and law school, as long as we remain open about it and take time to consider the other’s feelings.

I love that man

I got my school ID yesterday. Is there some law that you have to look hungover or recovering from Mongolian Death Flu in your picture?

Why do you laugh about Boyle. That man gave me my first A!
Or is it simply that he already married one of his students, so you are out of luck?

Uh, tramp, if you don’t mind my asking - what state do you plan on practicing in? 'cause, uh, how to put this delicately-

um. no way in hell do I want you to be my lawyer. Yeah, that works.

Damnit, I’m sure there was a nicer way to put that. Oh well.

Mr. Excellent - how to put this delicately -

um, say tramp is defending you for a DUI, it might not really matter whether he can recall the specific facts and holding in the “hairy hand” case.

In my case, what I learned in contracts has had some relevance to my personal life, but absolutely none to my professional life.

Of course, since I work for the federal gov’t, I AM your lawyer. So I guess you don’t want to her that I never bought the book in Organizations (Corporations), and only attended the class 3 times…

Mr. Excellent,

Bite me. I don’t plan on being a contract lawyer. Just because I didn’t read the cases, doesn’t mean I didn’t learn anything. I got an A in the class.
:wally

Oh Boyle, how hard it is to resist him when he’s foaming at the mouth…:stuck_out_tongue:

No, Boyle makes me laugh because of the impressions everyone does at him at the Law Revue (this year he was cast as a sort of Hannibal Lecter character). Not to mention that marching in St-Patrick’s day parades is “racist,” and well…our mailing list is internal so I won’t mention some of his antics on there on here.

I won’t deny that he’s brilliant blah blah blah + one of the most notoriously easy graders. I’m laughing because it makes my eyes twinkle to see his pompous windbaggery wind up other pompous windbags around school (unfortunately to the detriment of clogging my inbox).
