I just burned my LP of Goodtime Charley to mp3 format, from which it will go on my new massive 160 GB iPod, now that I have a neat device that lets me play vinyl albums and convert them to digital.
And it just occurs to me that I don’t really have any idea how the show sounds at ending, because my cassette tape wasn’t long enough to capture it, and cut off at the end of One Little Year.
Now… I know no one’s heard of this obscure little show.
But do you get the FEELING, friends? The idea that now you can just listen to all sorts of stuff without once flipping a tape over to Side B or popping in a new tape is still unbelievable to me. I am slowly working my way through all my albums. And if I’ve done my numbers right, I will be able to fit every album I own on this single little piece of equipment. (Adding my CDs would put me out of range).
I suspect everyone else had this epiphany about five years ago, so I’m late to the party. But… damn! This is amazing stuff.
