Maybe this will be a ‘misheard lyrics’ thread, or maybe a discussion of ‘future history’ as set up by John Birmingham in Weapons of Choice. I don’t know. I rarely drink, and I’ve just downed ‘a bit’ of scotch.
So in Designated Targets, in 1942, this racist cop (‘Buster’ Cherry) is in a bar that’s playing music brought back in time. The cop considers the music:
I was a boy when that song came out, and I thought the guy was singing ‘I believe in Milkos’. Sounded like a breakfast cereal to me. Anyway, I think this is the first time that I’ve heard (read) of anyone aside from myself thinking the lyric was ‘Milkos’ instead of ‘miracles’.
