I bought a Cyclo-Teacher!

Anyone else remember this? It was a learning aid thingy sold through World Book Encyclopedias in the late 60’s/early 70’s. I spent HOURS with that thing when I was a kid.

I was recently having a beer with my cousin Jeremy, who is about 5 years younger than me. He was reminiscing about childhood, and told me that he used to live for coming over to my house and playing with me. We’d play ‘school’, and use the cycle teacher to help. We both loved that thing.

So I go out to eBay last week, and lo & behold, there’s one in brand new condition for sale. I got it in the mail last night. It’s the coolest thing imaginable - both SO and I had ‘em as kids, and we immediately set it up and did a couple o’ cycles. <sigh> childhood as a geek…

My uncle was a salesman for World Book, so we had access to a cyclo-teacher AND the programmed instruction discs that went with them. I spent many a happy, nerdy hour playing with the thing. We might still have some discs around.
