Yesterday, I picked up this nifty keychain
from Target.
I left the box, the software and the rest in my girlfriends car… She left town and now I’m stuck with a digital keychain that has pictures of a baby which is not mine and a flower. Did I mention it makes me feel creepy?
I want to get my pictures on there. I googled and googled and cannot get a driver, download, software, freeware… you name it!
Nothing will help my PC read this keychain.
So, any help pointing me in the right direction? Anyone have this problem or have the keychain? (I’ll GLADLY provide my email address if someone feels like sharing!
Please, don’t make me keep being the creepy guy with pictures that aren’t his for display on a keychain!
Why not just go to Target and get another one and then return it? I’ve returned lots os stuff there and doibt very much if they would even check to see if the software had been opened. Even if they did they wouldn’t care because they hate having to deal with screamers at the desk.
Have you been to the manufacturers website? A lot of them have there drivers for download.
Or even using that contact email on there website to ask how you may go about getting them.
The website seems to be global sourcing only, more or less useless.
How does it connect to the computer? If it’s USB, try just plugging it in and see if it mounts like a flash drive: you may just need to drop folders into it’s directory structure, which you can probably figure out by looking at it.
I found the manufacturer’s website, but they don’t have that product listed. They do have a downloads page for their OVO series of digital photo viewer products (click Downloads on the top navigation bar), and there is only one driver listed for Windows-based machines. It may be a universal driver for all their USB photo viewer products; it’s worth a try. There is also contact information on the site, if that doesn’t work.
Turns out they do. Click the 1.1" & 1.5" Series link in the navigation bar described above. The downloads link on the left of that page goes to the same one I mentioned in the last post. I’m confident that’s what you want.
Im speechless. I’ve been sitting here in amusement for the past 5 minutes.
How in the WORLD did you find that?! That’s exactly it and I couldn’t find it anywhere!
Thank you!!!
I purchased the same 1.1" Photo Viewer. I do have the disk but even after installing the software, my PC does not recognize the viewer once I connect it to the USB. I went to the website and installed the driver (called Vista.exe), however, when I go to run it, it gives me an error (the one where it asks to you send an error report) and then it does nothing.
Trying to run the Photo Viewer software (needed to place pictures on the key chain), it says that it cannot connect to the device. I assume this is because my computer does not recognize it yet.
I even tried adding hardware through my Control Panel, but it states that the device is working fine - although it still does not recognize it.
Any ideas? I am confused as to why the disk does not install the driver and then why the Vista.exe does not work. For the record, I run XP, but the driver download is the same for 98, XP, and Vista.
I was doing a search because I have the same problem as this unfortunate fella…I have creepy pictures too…I threw out the box (presumably there was a cd in it with the driver). Yes, I’m an idiot, but I tried the download for Windows from that site, and no worky! Everytime I try it, I get the “blah blah had to shut down, do you want to send Microsoft an error report…” The company is from china, there is no north american number to call, and no tech support. Anyone have a copy of the file that works? Or know where I could find one?
Not exactly a customer service oriented company, that’s for sure.
L.
I decided to go buy one for the cd. It’s completely returnable packaging and nobody will know the difference. Even the cd package is easily opened and resealable.
Anyway, I encountered the same problem when trying to install new hardware, when it went to install the drivers, it came up with an error. I tried both options it gives and neither worked.
However, I decided to just run the setup.exe file on the disk and it installs a photo viewer program, which works…it interfaces with the keychain and you can add and remove photos from there.
Try just doubleclicking on the setup.exe file and you should be good to go.
