Broadband is worth it. I have DSL, and get the 1.5mbit they advertise (downstream). Be sure to read up on firewalls, and look into one.
Oh yeah, bigger HD. My mp3 collection went from non-existant to 1gig in about a month or so. 
100 posts? Just think how many posts you’d have with broadband!
That said, it’s a good feeling when you can tell when you’re going faster than the we b sites you’re visiting.

Shadowfox, a “node” is the equipment that converts digital signals to analog. It’s a big box full of equipment that the fiber optic cable enters and coax exits. If these guys are telliing you the “node” is bad, ask them how many other people in the area are unable to connect. A node typically serves 300 to 700 homes, depending on the local population density. If an entire “node” is bad, there shouldn’t be any question about it; it should be immediately obvious that’s the problem and no one else on the “node” will be able to access it either. Who’s your CATV company?

On a BAD day I get 1.5 Meg. On a good day, I’ve seen upwards of 5 meg.

Definitely worth it! I had DSL, then moved out of range. Now I am suffering serious withdrawals since my cable company can’t get their act together and Bell is too slow to expand their DSL coverage. I think I’m slated to be back in range around 2003 
It is scheduled to be installed friday. They said installation will be free!!! Well, it will be free unless my house qualifies as a “custom install”, if it does they will charge $40 an hour :eek:
