Today’s Doonesbury is spot on about DOGE. Wasted money instead of saving any, broke many aspects of our public services, demoralizing the federal workforce in the process, and caused many deaths.
But perhaps the saddest thing to me is how remote that seems. Freaking ancient history, replaced by ICE outrages, Venezuela, threats against Greenland/NATO…. Goddamned Epstein. Not to mention countless other outrages large and small.
It has only been 1 year. He has truly succeeded in flooding the zone, and proven he excels at breaking things.
Apologies - not really a debate. Just realizing that it has only been a year, and for the life of me, I’m not sure I could even identify which of his outrages is the worst.
And contrast today’s strip with that of March 16, 2025 which reminded us of the National Partnership for Reinventing Government led by Al Gore during the Clinton administration, which reduced government employment by 426,000, consolidated 800 agencies and eliminated 640,000 pages of rules, all without getting sued or disrupting public services.
I agree. It’s impossible to keep up. That’s why we need to do the one most important thing. Impeach him and start cleaning up his mess. And then put the VP on notice.
