I cant do WHAT anymore?

Good lord… I’m banning ME from watching it! Yipes!

Yup that’s quality entertainment right there. Simulated sex with a simulated corpse.

At times like this I wonder if I should bother to register to vote just so I can try to counter-act the damage done by people who enjoy shit like that.

But then I realize that I can always work overseas.

Someday, if you both live long enough, you will thank your mother for what she did for you when she said that.

Enjoy,
Steven

Well, now I know what it takes to disgust me. The TMI thread couldn’t do it, but Lou, in just over ten posts you have done what nobody on this board could do.

Or maybe it was WWE what did it. Iunno. EW either way…

Another vote for Lou’s mom. If I had kids that were watching that, I’d change the channel myself.

Ick.

CRorex, as a longtime fan who keeps up-to-date with as much inside information as I can, I feel it fairly safe to say that even among loyal, longtime WWE apologists there is a backlash against this storyline. I have yet to hear of any fan who liked it. It’s a pitiful storyline attempting to shock the mainstream media into giving the WWE product free advertising. It isn’t working, so hopefully it will be dropped quickly and, if we fans are lucky, quietly (wouldn’t be the first time an angle was abandoned in the middle).

[For the record, I didn’t watch the segment. I took care of other stuff, and when I returned and it was still going, I turned to MNF and/or Monk - whichever didn’t have commercials]

You know, I’m kinda glad I stopped watching that about two years ago. Dear god, that’s just wrong.

Sorry Lou - yer mom gets my vote too.

Crap such as you described wouldn’t be happening on my TV either.

EWWW.

That is frightening and disturbing and wrong in so many ways. SO many ways.

Why the hell did Triple H agree to do a vignet like THAT?!? Holy hell, I’m glad I stopped watching wrestling…

Another vote for the mom. I’m glad I haven’t watched pro wrestling in at least 3 years.

Heck, I’m glad I’ve never watched pro wrestling. Ye gods.

This thread is perfectly illustrative of why I don’t watch wrestling.

My thoughts exactly.

Man, I always defended the WWF/E, just because it’s not meant to be taken seriously, and is much more enjoyable to those who realize that. But, man, I really can’t defend that.

Lou, I understand that many people don’t “get” wrestling, but really, taken in the context here, can you really blame her for this decision?

And, BTW, who was supposedly in the casket?

That doesn’t sound like WWE. That sounds like something from Hustler or something…

Naw, not regular Hustler. They don’t even stoop to corpses. I’d feel cleaner “reading” a Hustler than I would watching ANY wrestling, let alone wrestling mixed with necrophilia. Not to mention the message sent by the comment about “she didn’t have to die if she had just let him touch her beautiful breasts”. If I killed every girl who wouldn’t let me near her naughty bits…

Lou E. Thunder I can recommend a good psychologist. I suggest that you see one…soon.
That is really not hardy har har funny.
On the flip side it makes me think about how I grew up watching looney toons…

Lou, if I were your mom, not only would you not be watching that, you would be spending the time you were not watching it with a nice therapist who could help you figure out what the fuck was wrong with you that made you file that under “comedy”.

I’ve been a semi-fan of wrestling for a while now. I know it’s fake. I like it for the same reason I like watching Jackie Chan and Jet Li movies, even though I know they’re not really beating people up either. The little story lines between the fights were goofy, sometimes funny, but mostly stuff I’d fast forward through if I could.

What you describe, however, goes beyond what I’ve ever seen on the show, and I’d have serious qualms about ever wanting to watch it again, let alone letting my (currently nonexistant) kids watch it.

What gets me, though, is that in their out-of-character interviews, most of the people in WWE, particularly Vince McMahon, Mick Foley and The Rock, seem like very intelligent, compassionate, family-oriented people, and I have a hard time imagining them going for something like this. Has anyone else seen this segment or seen any news reports about it? This only thing I’ve found is here at a site calling itself a “news and rumor” board, that includes Lou’s post verbatim.
