I demand an apology for Trent Dilfer

Okay, dave, I agree. I think everyone should receive an apology for Trent Dilfer.

Ditto what RTFirefly said in his post. Dilfer’s a winner, and nobody can take that away from him. He’s also a less-than-average NFL QB who will be on the bench next year. It just goes to show you, sometimes the quarterback isn’t the difference-maker for a football team. It takes talent at other positions as well as stellar coaching to win a Super Bowl.

I don’t care what the Redskins’ record was. As we have already learned from the example of suck-boy Trent Dilfer and the Ravens, a mediocre quarterback’s presence can be overcome if the other parts of the team are really good.

I guess I should have phrased the question differently, since it has also been misinterpreted in my IMHO poll. I didn’t mean best or worst Super Bowl performances. I meant this: Of all the quarterbacks who ever won the Super Bowl, which one had (or is having) the least impressive career? If you were assembling a team, which one would you least want to have on your side?

I have to admit that the person who won the game for them was Ray Lewis. Dilfer wasn’t a complete screw-up but he did not lead them to victory. Lets be real here Kerry collins completed Just as many passes for Raven touchdowns as Dilfer did. Do you want an apology from those of us who trashed him too?
