Given that this sort of thing has happened before, and the embarrassment of having a song’s creator state that they do not wish to have their work associated with a given candidate, I just do not get why presidential campaigns don’t make an effort to clear the song’s use beforehand, or at least choose songs from artists that can be reasonably supposed to support the given candidate. It doesn’t seem like it would be that difficult a task, really.
Oops, didn’t see the part about it being fake! I have wondered the above about campaigns in the past, however, when it really was an issue.
