I didn't know hairspray keeps a pumpkin fresh for an extra 3-4 days!

I just heard this on the news and I’m trying it. What other household products have you used for something that wasn’t for it’s intended use?

Well, hairspray can be very effective for getting ink out of clothes…versatile stuff!

…and you can spray bugs with it and gum up their wings and watch them plummet to the floor.

Just make sure you don’t apply the hairspray to the pumpkin if the candle inside the Jack-O-Lantern is already lit…

:smack:

Heh, I am making a vase out of a gourd, and I used wood-waterproofing stuff to…er…waterproof it while it sits outside to dry.

I have, on occasion, used WD-40 to kill GIANT KILLER WASPS RIGHT OUTSIDE MY DOOR…kills 'em dead.

So do you spray the inside or the outside of the pumpkin?

You are now officially no fun. At all…

I’ve used cooking spray instead of WD-40 for squeaky hinges.

Lysol makes a pretty good bug killer.

Those little battery powered drink mixer things, make a handy little vibrator.

I’m pretty sure you spray the cut surfaces, which prevents it from shriveling.

You, on the other hand…

how you doin’?

This…

followed by this…

Is pretty freakin’ surreal.

waves to Batsinma Belfry. hi there!

I want to know if the news in your area has any load explosions in the next few days. Post if they do.

It’s not that good of a vibrator…

At some point, the following thought had to occur:

and you have to wonder, is somebody using hairspray to preserve vegetables they plan to eat, and, if so, what do their children look like???
