I don't believe this.

FCM, I do believe that it the first time I have seen you refer to your daughter as anything other than the Perfect Child.

ahem, that would be the Perfect Child[sup]TM[/sup]

FCM, I’m having your weather too. Friday we hit 85. Saturday a.m. we had 38. This is the time of year when you run your heat at night and your air cond. during the day :stuck_out_tongue:

I luv it !!

essvee, obviously you’re not taking notes on each and every post I make. I’ve referred to her as the kid, my daughter, perhaps by name (tho I doubt that), and I may have even called her a brat. I hope you also realize that I call her that in the hopes that it’ll be a self-fulfilling prophesy. So far, it hasn’t… but one never knows.

Back to the weather - it’s sunny, about 58, and I’m about to close most of the windows because it’ll be too cold to get up in the morning. Naturally, I put the electric blanket away 3 weeks ago.

South of Albany, reporting.

Snow.

Big fluffy flakes.

Sticking.

The rest of the family is bummed. But snac says, 'You mean it’s NOT the end of snowshoe season?"

I woke up this morning to five inches of snow in my front yard. WTF?? I live in North Carolina!

Just to make you feel better, here in West Virginia I am looking at 11 1/2 inches of fresh powder.

It started to stick here, but it only just covers the ground. I hope it melts soon.

I know why this winter sucks so much, too. It’s because I’m moving to Texas. The winter I lived in Mississippi, it was warmer and milder up here in NY than it was in MS, but it snowed last March when I came up to visit over spring break. Now I’m in NY one last winter before I move to Texas in July, and look at the weather we’re having. It’s all my fault. ::hangs head in shame::

Now that we know who to blame, I say let the beatings commence.

I’m tired of this useless white junk.

racinchikki, my dog thanks you for fessing up. I put him out and it was raining. I brought him back in and it was snowing. I thought for sure there was a connection. I wasn’t going to ever let him out again.

So now that you’re going to move to Texas, do you think the weather will be all right up here?

It’s still snowing.

When did you say you were moving to Texas, racinchikki? July? That’s way too late. Where, exactly, in Texas are you going? If you are going to Galveston, I’m going to be seriously worried. I’m having visions of 80[sup]o[/sup]F and 98% relative humidity in Galveston (although it’s not like that never happens in Galveston), and 110[sup]o[/sup]F and 98% relative humidity in Albany (although it’s not like that never happens in Albany).

You realize you’re going to be a Yankee among Texans for the rest of your life, right?

You’re a weather-witch, aren’t you? We used to burn 'em around here.

I have a belated response for FairyChatMom, as well.

The Perfect Child[sup]TM[/sup], also known as PerfectChild (another respected, if non-prolific, poster) is afraid of the snow? This raises some problems.

You can’t send her to Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Brown, or any of the other Ivy League colleges. Maybe Cal Tech? But, I gather she’s kinda’ soft on engineering, so maybe a broader university is in order. As long as it’s not in Michigan.

It’s snowing in Maryland on the 31[sup]st[/sup] of March? That’s messed up.

Skied my ass off today in 40 degree sunshine. Best day of the year.

Woo-hoo!

No, she’s not afraid of snow. She just doesn’t like the stuff. I think it might have something to do with those years we were living in Virginia when we bought her a snow shovel of her very own. She was not impressed. Nope, she’s a Floridian, thru and thru.

And she hopes to attend Univ of Central Florida. She didn’t elect to have her SAT and ACT scores sent anywhere outside the state. She’s still waffling about her major, but she’s just 17, so I’m not concerned. I wanted to bea teacher when I was 17, and we all know how that turned out.

And she doesn’t post any longer - I think her identity disappeared during last year’s crash. Nor does she read the boards, to my knowledge - she seems to think we’re weird. Sheesh, kids…

Incidentally, the wind chills are in the 20s here. Some areas are threatened with frost tonight. So, who’s the evil genius who’s manipulating the weather?

Snow?!? What’s that? I haven’t seen snow in years. Send some down here ~ everyone loves it here.

Of course about 2 weeks ago we were all sledding on the pollen. Seriously, I had to spray the green stuff off my porch and driveway. This morning I woke up feeling like my sinuses were stuffed with sopping wet fiberglass insulation.

Ya coming to Texas, ** racinchikki **? In July? Ugh! You’re brave. Of course it depends on the part of Texas you’re coming to. I live in the Houston/Galveston area and the humidity is so thick in the summer you have to swim through it.

I’m not looking forward to summer at all. Bring a breeze with you, okay?

Oh and welcome. In advance.

University of Central Florida, huh? I already knew that, didn’t I? I’m such a yutz.

So the Perfect Child[sup]TM[/sup] is going to attend school in Florida, but she’ll have to spend Christmas break in snowy Maryland?

Ooh. You’re evil.

I’m sitting here, in front of my gigantic @18’ high x 8’ wide, window, at work (WooHoo! Almost makes up for having to work on this crappy little faux desk.) watching the white fluffies descend upon us. Much fluffier than it was on the way to work. Of course, as soon as I get up to go out for a smoke, it will convert back to the brutal little ice pellets that were blasting in my face on the way here.

I just love it when the snow gets confused as to which way is down, and breaks into an improvisational dance.

I’m in Maryland now… and the weather is confusing. At least in Vermont, you expected everything, and you were rarely disappointed. Here, it’s just insane. We had snow yesterday, but it didn’t stick. A few years ago, we had “lots” of snow (a little over a foot), and the entire area went crazy. For some reason, all the storms miss us. Which is miserable for me, I miss the snow cries. 5-10 inches? I’m used to 5-10 ft.

I blame this on Bob Kovachick. Let’s get a SDMB posse together and go get 'im.

I have no idea who he is, but I’m all for it. I’ve always wanted to be in a posse.
Actually, I really wanted to be the Sheriff

I’m in if we can take out that nicey-nice Steve Caparizzo character too.

These are just our local TV weather punks, Salem. Like ed, I’m starting to feel like shooting the messenger.
