I don't get it! (Picture)

Ok, I think this picture’s supposed to be funny. I don’t get it. Linky link.

The only thing i can think of is the one-way sign pointing left, and then the arrow going right, but it makes sense to me that the road to the right could be 2 way, and the one on the left one way.

The “one way” sign points to the left, but there’s a green turn arrow to the right.

Oh, I wasn’t finished. :smack:
Yeah, that’s the only thing I can see too! (And you’re right, it’s likely a two way.)

It could be photochopped.
Although the ‘don`t walk’ sign should be a ‘walk’ sign if the light were red (unless it was just about to turn green).

Or, like you say, it could be the start of a one way street left of the intersection.

Are you sure that link is work-safe?? I thought I saw something I shouldn’t be clicking on (I closed very quickly and I’m not going back…)

Looked fine to me, Beelze. Just a pic of an intersection. And a lame one at that.

“College Humor” indeed.

Some of the ads may not be work safe. Women in skimpy clothing, an ad for Booble, that sort of thing. There’s also a “sexual” category for pictures at the top of the page.

I’d highly advise against clicking the picture at work though, as it brings up a random picture and there’s a quite good chance of nudity or other non-work-safeness.

The original pic. Meh. Mildly amusing.

This pic. I simply *cannot * stop giggling.

And yes, many of the links on the page are very non-work-safe.

Pretty lame. Is this what college humor has become? Yawn Back in the day we were much more humorous. I mean, condoms filled with whipped cream hanging on doorknobs, underwear flying from flag poles. Now that’s wit!

If Main Street is a two-way street to the right of the intersection, there should not be a one-way sign pointing left. The person stopped at the stop light does not need to be warned that there will be an absence of oncoming traffic from the left. One way signs exist to warn motorists not to go up them the wrong way. If you see a One Way sign pointed left, you don’t go right.

I have no idea what you just said…

So maybe to the right of the intersection, the street is one way (going left), and to the left of the intersection, the street is two way.

I got a chuckle out of the pic.

But it might let you know you can drive in either lane going left. Or that you can safely turn left on a red light without cutting anyone off. (WARNING: I have no knowledge of American traffic laws. This example is hypothetical and for your amusement only, etc.) Or maybe just that it is one-way; I’m sure I’ve seen an upward pointing arow on the UK’s blue-background=informational-sign showing that the road is one way the way you’re going…
