I dream of Californication, or, did anyone watch Det vs. Oak last night?

Anyone who watches baseball knows that the line score is usually displayed at the end of every half inning, just prior to the commercial break. And sometimes, the network will play some music while the line score is being displayed. During one of the middle innings, what do I hear from my TV? You guessed it: [music]I dream of Californication[/music] The good ol’ Red Hot Chili Peppers. But wouldn’t you say that it was a weird choice of songs? I mean, I get it, it’s California. But since the word “fornication” is a major part of that line in the song, it struck me as odd. I’m guessing that someone doing the programming at Fox just didn’t make the connection.

It’s possible that somebody in the truck was clueless. Maybe. The Fox network has always pushed the envelope, though, and it’s more likely they were tweaking some censor’s nose. “Fornication” is not a banned word, so far, by the FCC.
