"I enjoy cocaine" - Wexler

Has anyone heard anything about Sundance channel doing a docudrama about the behind the scenes stuff on Capitol Hill?? They are following Wexler and his team, if Wexler is anything like he was on the Colbert Report…abnd he has a bunch of smart/sexy kids dealing with their drama…im looking forward to the scandals to ignite.

Was the Wexler thing a scandal? I thought it was a joke.

It was a joke, but sadly there were those that took it (not seriously) but in the manner of “How can he say these things? This is not a joking subject!”.

Well, then the real joke is that there were idiots who took it seriously.

Fox News did try to make something of it, but I don’t think it went much beyond that.

I thought it was hilarious, I love that there is apolitician that will play along and loosen his tie for some humor. I think that would be good for the show as well, if he is willing to let that kind of thing fly, and make such good press out of what some organizations try to inflate into a huge issue, im sure he’ll allow alot of things to be shown on this show that others wouldn’t.

Wexler is running unopposed. The joke was that he could say anything and still not lose the election.

Regardless, I applaud the fact that he plays along, there are alot of politicians who still would not have had as much fun with it as he did. i heard there are wuite a few hootis in this as well, added plus. It might be neat to see alot of the inside office of the Hill that us regular shluffs might not otherwise be able to see.

Doesn’t anyone go on camera with Colbert and just calmly and smilingly call him on his BS? Every time I watch it I’m reminded of talking to manipulative high schoolers. What I do is tell them plainly that they’re just trying to manipulate the situation, and that if we’re not going to have a real conversation, they can leave.

Some people try. It doesn’t really work, and besides- if you have that much of a problem with it, why would you agree to do the show?

I heard an interview with Colbert where he revealed that he went into the green room before the show and warned his guests that he was going to be in character during the interview segment. They know it’s all a show.

Yeah, if you call Colbert on his act or get snippy and refuse to play along it just backfires. You end up looking like a humorless prig and his segment just gets all the funnier for it.

Oh my gosh, I’m in a signature line!!!twentyfive!!!

Oh wow, Oh wow, Oh wow, Oh wow, Oh wow, Oh wow

And rightly so, it is a SHOW after all. I mean this Colbert lives for the guest that won’t play along, they do end up looking like himourless idiots and will open themselves up for even more embarassment. If you’re going to waste your time signing up for a show just to call out the host, waster your time on O’Reilly, at least many more more people will agree with you.

On a side note: Variety just released a very positve review for The Hill, this thing might have some legs…check it out

Has anyone watched??? I think it is pretty entertianing if you are the least bit interested in politics…

I haven’t had a chance to see it (i.e. The Hill) since I don’t currently have a TV, but I’m going to try to find it on the web.

If you’re interested, the Director of the show was on the Brian Lehrer radio show last week. Here’s the stream. (19 min.)

cool, thanks.

There are rundowns on the SundanceChannel.com site. I don’t think they have streaming episodes YET, but I know I have it OnDemand which is pretty sweet. Maybe you can bring a friend a six pack and bribe them for the half hour watch? Just a thought, works for me EVERYTIME!

I can’t beleive it is almost over, anyone who is watching…you think they might do one with a REvpublican team? It might be interesting to see some of the differences…

Why WOULD they? It’s all in fun-what’s the point of calling him on his “BS”, when it’s all an act? You’d just end up looking like an idiot.
