I feel like dirt. Family, humilation, & a stray cat.

We’re looking at the Humane Society.

If somebody sees Nashvegas dopers online, have em e-mail me.

Bosda - I’m here, but I’m pretty well maxed out, with four dogs, three cats (plus I’ve been caring for my niece’s cat for a month) and a horse. There’s a possibility I could take the cat in for a short time while you get him a spot at the Nashville Humane, but he’d be strictly a barn cat, and I really don’t have the resources for a 10th(!) animal.

By “barn cat”–do you include shelter/food/water?

If so, then maybe.

They did just fine before we decided they needed us to feed them and give them shelter. If anything, it’s less dangerous for them now than it was even a hundred years ago, since we’ve run off almost all the other predators.

Maybe so, but we’ve introduced a lot of things that are more dangerous than simple predators. Cars, for instance.

Bosda - Yep, he can sleep in a relatively draft-free barn, get food and water and keep my horse Irish company. It will be up to him if he keeps coming back for food/shelter/whatever. He won’t be locked up there, but he’ll have hay to sleep in and all the rodents he can catch for toys. The barn is a good 600 ft back from the road, so unless he wanders a good long way, he’ll be safe from cars. But again, it can only be temporary. I can’t neuter/vaccinate/vet another animal. And I already clean more cat litter than I like.

Update–the cat has been adopted, by one of the State’s IT people.

Her new name is Russia, for no particular reason.

Nice job, Bos. What will you do with the good Karma coming your way?

I love happy endings.

Yes. Chcolate ones.

You’re a mensch, Bosda. hugs

Sleeping easy, tonight.

Yay for the kitty. You done good!

Your description of this cat sounds like my Tansy. I’m so glad you found someone to take her in. You’re my hero for today.

You have a great and kind heart, Bos’ .

Q

Way to go, Bosda! What a kind heart you have! I just found this thread and was about to call a friend when I saw the happy ending.

Well done, Bosda - I’m touched and impressed by your very real concern for the cat. Good guy. Happy cat now!
