Other Moore supporters filed a lawsuit Monday in federal court in Mobile in a last-ditch bid to prevent the carved stone monument from being moved.
They argue that removing the monument would amount to a **government endorsement of a “religion of non-theistic beliefs,” ** according to the complaint.
Heh. Ya gotta love 'em. Let’s hear it for education in Alabama. They’re doing a helluva job. NOT.
You see that thread at the very top there; the ones that locked and the title’s written in capital letters ? Good chap.
Also, what is the debate, here, and what is your position ?
I thang yew.
Indeed. This seems more like a MPSIMS or Pit thread.
Ok. I hear you London_Calling.
Here is my question: What the hell is going on? Why has our country sunk to such a low?
We have such bigger issues to deal with and this piece of shit national story. I can’t help but get a little caught up in it.
I see civil liberties being stripped by one hand (Ashcroft and the soon to be fully implemented Patriot Act) but this is head story. No where on the CNN.com coverpages (main & US) is there anything on Ashcroft’s tour to support & persuade the Patriot Act. These people are talking like there civil liberties are being infringed, really c’mon?? They have a lot more to worry about or maybe not because they buy into this “new” vision that constitution and Christianity are inexorably linked.
Moderator’s Note: Since we already have several active threads on various aspects of this controversy, I’m going to close this rather than try to come up with a new title for it.
