I feel so naked. (Lame and long lament)

If the OP is any indication of your writing ability, you’ll be fine. You described a complicated situation in such a way that even I could understand it. Clear, concise, not boring – dang!

It sounds like the functional equivalent of having your job outsourced and then being ordered to train your replacement. Seems to happen all the time.

We used to call it “falling on your sword”.

MAJOR Bonus points to you for making your choice. I, too, have been presented an ultimatum and said “fuck that” and resigned. Twice. Once, for being passed over to a management position (at a computer company, and was asked to train my new boss who said on his first day “how does this thing turn on?”) :smack: , and prior to that, for failing to join the “good ol’ boy” system by admitting on paper that somebody else had lied to gain favor with the superiors in return for a promotion.

I will not comprimise my integrity to uphold a lie.

Though these were both good jobs, I could see where being able to sleep at night would be more to my liking than selling my (company) soul to the man.

-Cheers!!!

I was the first person to walk on a job when the boss’s designated wunderkind shafted me. I left with approximately 2 hours notice to my immediate supervisor. The wunderkind decided that I owed him two weeks more work. I told him, “I refuse to discuss this with you.”

The beautiful thing is that in the ensuing weeks and months, others walked when the wunderkind shafted them. Finally, the boss (who had at one time been a friend of mine) cottoned onto the idea that maybe the problem wasn’t the lower-level employees but her wunderkind.
