I find Christmas colors cheap, gaudy and poorly coordinated ...

Stores are putting out Christmas decorations for sale and I find that, as has been the case for as long as I can recall, the are colors cheap, gaudy and poorly coordinated.

Do others feel this way?

Some of them, yes (especially some of the blue/pink/purple colors that seem an odd hybrid between neon and pastel that Walmart and Target like for ornaments), but I find more tasteful than gaudy. There are definitely colors used I wouldn’t ever want for Christmas myself, though.

Ugh, this reminds me of the white tree my mom had when I was a kid. It had white lights and big gold balls and nothing else. She put it up in our all-white, shag carpeted, sunken living room.

Fortunately, we had a regular tree in the family room with regular colored lights* and mismatched ornaments. Yay cheap, gaudy, and poorly coordinated Christmas!

  • Not pink or purple, though! Blech!

I think nothing is tackier than the whole red and green with multicolored lights Christmas look.
