I found the only person 10 degrees from Kevin Bacon!

This person is now a 7.

The best I found so far is a 4! Curse Eli Wallach - nearly every actor I pick before 1950 seems to come through him to Kevin Bacon.

First time I’ve ever heard that…

What new movie closed the gap?

And as an aside, a friend of mine has both a Bacon number (by virtue of being an uncredited extra) and an Erdös number. I don’t know his Bacon number off the top of my head, but I think his Erdös number is 6.

Mmmmm… zombie bacon!

I call BS.

I just put in the girlfriend’s name.

Her Bacon Number is 3, based on a starting point of a project called “It’s a Match,” in which she did background.

I know, because I woke her up, and in between snarls at having been woken up, she said, “I did fucking BACKGROUND- you woke me up to ask me THAT?!!?!?”

Background is a cop-out.

Fun Google Trick:

You can put Bacon number [any name] into the search box, and if that person has a Bacon number it will display along with its Bacon-chain.

Frost/Nixon (2008)

I found several people with Bacon numbers of infinity, but they were all in a documentary. Not sure if that counts. On the other hand, if WRS counts, so do these people …

Moved MPSIMS --> Cafe Society, a forum that did not exist when this zombie last saw the light of day.

I just figured out who WRS is and he has a bacon number of 7!

For the record, I am listed on the Bacon Hall of Fame from August 1997 for finding someone with a Bacon number of 7. One of my prouder moments.

WTF? Have I missed the point of the game? I thought the object was to connect your target to Kevin Bacon in six moves or FEWER.

I’m a six, btw.

Oops.

Make that a four (yes I count TV shows, although I only used one).

You’ve missed the point. The point was that EVERYONE had a Bacon number of 6 or less - and so when people started finding 7s or higher out in the wild, it was a big deal. (At least, it was a big deal back in 2001…)

Pffft.

THAT game doesn’t interest me in the slightest.

O. K. I give up what did WRS appear in that gives him a Bacon number of 7 (or 10)?

He has only one credit on IMDb, but when I put in his name just now, I was told he has a Bacon number of infinity, as does William McKinley, who was a “7” back in 2001. Meanwhile, the 2006 flick Stay Awake has reduced Mevlan Shanaj from a 6 to a 3.

Do uncredited extra roles count? If so, I’m a three, thanks to a few days work on a TV movie. Too bad Kevin Bacon wasn’t IN it.

  1. William Rufus Shafter and Joseph Wheeler appeared in Surrender of General Toral.
  2. Joseph Wheeler and Russell A. Alger appeared in General Wheeler and Secretary of War Alger at Camp Wikoff.
  3. Russell A. Alger and William McKinley appeared in President McKinley’s Inspection of Camp Wikoff.
  4. William McKinley and Theodore Roosevelt appeared in President McKinley Inauguration.
  5. Theodore Roosevelt and Walter McGrail appeared in Womanhood, the Glory of the Nation.
  6. Walter McGrail and Patty McCormack appeared in Here Comes the Groom.
  7. Patty McCormack and Kevin Bacon appeared in Frost/Nixon.

Several of these steps appear to be old newsreels.
