I generally don't like band/performer X, but I really like song Y

Many of these I share:

“Ragged Wood”

All Lit Up.

Tripping Billies.

I o…okay, I don’t like any of their songs

:smack:

Make that Jane’s Addiction / “Three Days”

I generally don’t like Eminem, but I love “Lose Yourself.”

ETA: And I like Weird Al’s version even better.

Madonna - Material Girl

Madonna-Ray Of Light
Sheryl Crow-Steve McQueen
Rap Music/Cypress Hill-Hits From The Bong
Prodigy-Smack My Bitch Up
Yngwie Malmsteen-Far Beyond The Sun
The Flys-Got You Where I Want You

I’ve said many times that Alanis Morisette should have been a one-hit wonder, as “You Oughta Know” kicked ass (love the Flea bass line) but everything else she did pretty much sucked.

Also, Stone Temple Pilots - Big Bang Baby

I never otherwise cared for the Doobie Brothers, but “What A Fool Believes” makes me shake my booty. A perfect pop single.

Another one: Three Dog Night. Meh. Except for “Out In The Country.”

Anothernother one: Springsteen. Doesn’t do a thing for me. Except for “Hungry Heart”, which I love.

.

I generally don’t like Robbie Williams, but I really like “Angels.”

Good one. I also find “Streets of Philadelphia” passable.

I fucking hate the Smiths but How Soon Is Now? is an amazing song.

The only Boss song I like is Glory Days

Most of what Northern Irish band Snow Patrol produce is woeful to my ears, but I’m somehow partial to their “Spitting Games”, which is a lot more upbeat and tuneful than anything else they’ve sung.

Elvis Presley “Burning Love”

Have you heard The Ataris’ version? It kicks rump.

mmm

Not a big fan of The Killers but I think “Mr Brightside” is pretty good.

It took a good amount of thinking for me to come up with one:

Bon Jovi - Welcome To Wherever You Are

mmm

I’m no U2 fan, but whenever Hold me thrill me kiss me kill me comes on the radio, I crank up the volume. Way up.

I generally dislike all music remotely like this, but for some reason, I love The All-American Rejects’ Move Along.

My SIL loved the pe-ABBA work of all four members, but hated all their ABBA work. Except Fernando.

I don’t like the band Cake, but I love “Building a Religion”
