It came in the mail all nice and pretty. Yes, I finally have one. I have the “The FoodSaver® The Original Home Vacuum Packaging System™, by Tilia (of course)”.
Last night, I pulled things out of the freezer so I could vacumm pack them. They will stay fresh for years!!!

Those things are great! I use mine to squeeze the excess epoxy out of my kevlar/fiberglass/carbon-fiber rocket airframes and fins :eek:

gotpasswords, no cans yet - that would be a waste of the bags but cool as hell. I might just try that. I love the marshmellow demonstration in the infomercials. I’ll have to buy some soon.
VenusProbe, interesting. I’m trying to think of other uses (other than crushing cans) for it. I’m thinking about vacuum packing some clothing.
Amanita, my wife thinks I’m crazy. I did a little dance when I got it and I grin from ear to ear when I use it.

BTW, I came home from work early today (no, not to vacuum pack - but that is an extra bonus). I vacuum packed the bagels in the freezer. Sure, it will be harder for my wife to get to one tomorrow morning but it will be fresher.
Have you vacuum packed your vacuum yet? I’m picturing a Hoover in a plastic bag.
