I haven’t had a puppy (dogs, yes) since I was little!
It’s a mini long hair dachshund, and his name is
Fergus Minimus Weinermayer, Esq.
My husband has not spoken to me since I brought Fergus home tonight, but he will get over it.

Bet you hubby will bond quickly with the little tyke and the two of them will be best buds.

Congrats on your new friend, Lyllyan! I want a puppy! It’s the dealing with the early morning walkies that kills me, though, so I guess while I’m still living solo there shall be no puppy. My other option is to rig up some kind of harness & pulley system, so I could lower my theoretical puppy out of the window to do his or her business.

Are you sure that’s Weinermayer and not “Oscar Mayer”? Anyway, don’t bring home any hot dog buns for a week or two and you should be safe.

Congrats! That’s awesome. I have been hounding (no pun intended) my fiancee to get a daschund for 4 years with no luck. I am very jealous. They are great dogs.

I just got my Great Dane puppy 3 weeks ago, and we are having a blast together.
I had asked for some dog shopping advice in an earlier thread and we got ourselves an adult Shar-pei… 8 years old and very cute and sweet and in need of a home before xmas… she’s the most loving dog I have ever had. She’s perfectly content to sleep on her new dog bed in front of the fire and periodically wake up to lick out hands. (the previous owner never let her inside in the past year).

I am soooo jealous.
I desperately want a puppy. (This past year is the first time in my life I’ve lived without a dog).
Still trying to get a handle on the logistics… and make sure that he/she will be well taken care of… but the day is coming.
Meanwhile, everyone I know is on alert to keep me far away from rescue shelters and breeders.
