I got a card after Mikey, too. Unfortunately, it came about a week later, as I was just getting to the point of not crying every day. And started me crying again.
Our vet also sends out sympathy cards. We have had to put two cats down this year due to old age and other health issues.
Just last week, we received a Christmas card from our vet with everyone’s signature. Pretty cool.

Our cat, Snowball, died at the vet’s office last Friday. We got a card this Friday. Thick, lined envelope with no return address. I assumed it was a holiday card from my insurance agent. I was not prepared for the tuft of white fur and the paw print. The sympathy card was signed by the entire vet’s office. It was very sweet for them to include the fur and paw print; I just wish I’d had a little warning.
I’m so sorry you lost your bunny but I’m glad you had a caring vet.
Our first dog died very suddenly (well, over the course of a day he fell ill and died) when he was 2.5 years old. Still a puppy. We brought him to our local vet, and when they did all they could, we drove all the way up to the teaching veterinary hospital in St.Hycinthe to see if they could find the cause of his sudden illness. They couldn’t, and he passed away of a heart attack that night.
A short time later, we’d received cards from vets at both places, and the local vet went out of her way to get Nike’s collar back from the hospital and send it to us. That meant so much to us, even though it hurt to much to receive it. I still miss that dog - he didn’t deserve the death he got
