Congrats! What other schools have you applied to, if any?
Cornell, Princeton, Carnegie Mellon, and Rensselaer.
I heard from Rensselaer today (accepted), but nothing yet from the other three.
I plan to withdraw my application from them, since my guidance counselor tells me that might open up spaces for other people applying from my high school (assuming I was accepted, of course). It’d be nice to find out if I got into Princeton and Cornell, but I’ll live.

Congrats! I so totally can relate - shortly before I ended up hearing back (accepted) from one of my two top choice schools (still torn, btw), I was having nightmares. I’d go out to the mailbox, and it was filled (we have a HUGE box), completely filled. Every single square inch was packed with…rejection letters from that school.
[bragging]Luckily, I’ve been accepted to all but 2 of my schools. One rejection was from Oxford, and the other from a college just voted “Number one” or “most beautiful” or something in Outdoors magazine. [/bragging]
Has anyone on the SDMB attended Oxford?
I don’t want to go to California: I have a well-paying job here in Connecticut that would be hard to do from across the country. Plus, it’d be a real PITA to get my car there and back each year.
Also, Caltech is too small a school for my taste: last year’s class was only a little larger than the senior class at my high school.
