I got my first ink!

Could be. I’ve been taunting myself with the idea of a tat again. How big is your tat that he offered $90 as a start?

1 1/2" by 2".

Is there a particular design you want? I only got this one because it was something I’ve always wanted.

Heh, I wouldn’t worry. I’d had the image picked out for a couple months, and I knew it was going to go on my thigh. You’re post was just the kick in the butt I needed to go ahead and do it.

I got my first 7 years ago, almost 8. I don’t remember at all what I put on it, but I was given something, just don’t remember what. My second one is almost 4 years old, I’m pretty sure that I used just regular Lubriderm, and I think it’s still sitting on my desk. The last one I’m pretty sure I used the diaper rash stuff.

I got all of mine at the same store, though not the same people, and even there they told me different things. I would still go with what the artist told you, there maybe different reasons for different types of tattoos. I have one big one that’s color, one that’s nothing but black lines, and one that is black but bigger. Different types of ink on different parts of the skin may need different moisturizers.

Put up a picture, finally. Copy and paste “www.geocities.com/dutchboy208/tat.jpg” into your browser (GeoCities doesn’t allow direct linking for some reason.)

Warning: There’s a little blood, and I look kinda goofy in the picture…

Congrats on the tat… I’ve been wanting another one for a bit now. Must… resist… temptation…

I can’t see it though (says it’s exceeded the allocated data transfer)

Yes, there’s something I know I want. It’s a hamsa. I know I’d put it in one of two or three spots I’m deciding between. I wouldn’t get it very big for that matter, a friend estimated about $40-50 for it. I can’t at the moment, but maybe as a graduation gift to myself. Hmmmm…

A hamster? Whoah

If the tattoo is just an outline, it will probably heal pretty fast too. I have one about 2" across on my chest that was just outline and it was pretty much fully healed in 4 days.

Compare this to my left ankle which took… well too long, and the 2 on my back which took a couple weeks each to heal.

My last girlfriend is a tattoo artist. When she did mine she gave out A&D. It’s usually good for most people, but it is very greasy. She’s going to be switching to ProTat or another aftercare cream soon at her new shop.

Congrats on the ink though. What people have said is totally correct though it does get addictive. It’s been over a year since I had the chance to get work done and my ex and I have come up with 4 different pieces to put on me now and I can’t wait to get something done.

In related news, the place I had the tattoo done BURNED DOWN the next day!

How bizarre is that?

Nobody hurt, but the place is a charred pile of rubble. I didn’t even know until I walked past on Wednesday…

Remind me not to be in the same state when you get an operation.

Appendectomy Apocalypse!
