I have lost several pounds doing the Atkins Diet. I bought the Keto-Diastix that the book recommends you get. Anyway you pee on it and if it changes colors it is suppose to mean that your body is burning it’s own fat for fuel (lipolysis state). I have been doing this diet since mid January. And I have lost like 24 lbs or so. Up until today, I have only been able to get it to show a trace amounts of Ketones. I did it this morning and it turned into a robust purple like it should be. I was sooo excited. Just had to share.

Well, I was doing Induction for about a week before I realized I was doing it wrong (eating some things that are definite no-nos).
I’ll be starting again on Monday, and I’ll be doing it right this time.

Ketoacidosis = BAD
Ketosis = GOOD, if you’re doing Atkins.
The chemical processes are quite different.
Diabetes is a whole nother (unfortunate) ballgame.
