I got my new stand mixer!!!

No Kitchenaid for me, I just received my new Bosch Universal mixer. This will knead 7 loaves of bread. 800 watts of power. Lovely machine!

Merry Christmas to me!

So what are you going to make first?

Nice. It’s one of the few appliances out there that gets mostly great reviews. I only saw one negative on Amazon, and that was about the change to plastic parts from the metal ones on the old Bosch machine.

Looks interesting, but does it do the same type of stuff my Kitchen aid does? Whip cream and all of that high speed stuff?

I’ve never seen one in Kitchen Stadium!

Gary - It’ll whip cream, grind meat, or grains, cream cookie dough, juice fruits and veggies, slice and shred and food process. It has a blender attachment.

Jeff - I’m not sure what I’m going to do first. I should’ve done something today, but it was a busy day.

Chefguy - My sister has one, and does nothing but rave about it.

I’ve had my eye on that. I’ll need regular reports from you!

A hundred years ago, I had an Oster Kitchen Center. That thing ALMOST did it all. It had a heavy duty mixer head (with grinder attachment), a blender jar, and a shredder/slicer/grater gizmo. I LOVED it. I USED it. And it died, BEFORE I got a chance to use the food puree attachment, sob sob!

I’ve been kinda-sorta telling myself that I deserve a Vita Mix.

But now I’ve been enticed by the Bosch.

Tell me MORE!

VOW - My sister had my mother’s old Oster kitchen center. She gave it away. It doesn’t begin to compare to the Bosch as far as power and durability. There are many 20 year old (and more) Universals out there still in daily use.

My sister lives in Phoenix, which she calls the Land o’ Mormon. A lot of the Mormons bake all their own bread and use these machines heavily. My non-Mormon sister buys whole grains and grinds her flour fresh for her baking.

That creaking sound you hear is my resolve, splintering, cracking, fracturing.

The Vitamix is $449. The Bosch is $399.

And that’s not even with all the bells, whistles, and birdcalls.

Oh my…

VOW - I got my Bosch from the cooking store in AZ that my sister goes to. Their Black Friday special for the Bosch was $370 for the Bosch with the kneading arms and whips, and the bowl scraper cookie paddles and a cookbook for free. I paid the $45 for the food processor. I got a huge amount of stuff for $420. THey shipped it to me and I paid $20 for shipping.

But does it shoot flames?

No Flames? It’s lame.

Zebra - I think there’s a flame accessory, but it’s more than $6.
