So I’ve got a history test, well, I don’t but my girlfriend does and I was trying to help her study but I came across a few things that I really couldn’t explain to her so I thought I’d come here. I know there is an unspoken (is it spoken or written? I’ve never seen it but only been told) about helping people with their homework but this really isn’t a quetion like that. It is mosty to help better understand concepts. So here they are.
How did Louis XIV use absolutism?
How did religion motivate political action in Spain, France, and England?
What are some causes and effects of the English civil war (we know that Charles was an active believer in absolutism, but did he do something specific?)
Cause and effects of 30 years war (we know that alot of it had to do with religious toleration in Bohemia, but how did it spread so far?)
And lastly, how did scientific methods and disciplines develop in the 16th and 17th centuries? (Does this have to do with proving Copernicus and heliocentric theory?
Out of abunch of questions we had to answer, these were the ones we really got stuck on. We found alot of information but we aren’t sure how it all fits together. Thanks!
Yeesh! I’m sure you did indeed find a lot of information.
All of those questions would minimally require an essay-style answer ( at least if I were answering ) which is more than I feel comfortable regurgitating at the moment. #2 and #5 in particular are exceptionally broad.
Doesn’t your girlfriend have classroom notes that address these topics if they’re going to be on an exam? If not, and these are in the realm of take home questions, I’d feel a bit constrained about answering anyway. While you are saying you are looking for conceptual guidance, a few of those seem to be reaching for very specific answers.
