The guy I’ve been mentioning is Lloyd Riddle, who I’ve posted about previously. He was hired indirectly. It’s my understanding the victim’s wife was the person who wanted him dead, and a relative of hers approached Lloyd. Here is a rather lengthy report of the investigation.. There is a brief reference to a 2nd, unrelated murder that Lloyd was convicted of in this article, though it was apparently not a murder for hire.

If you’re not sure if this guy is serious, you know how you find out? You tell the police, and let them figure it out. That’s literally their job, and they’re a lot better at it than you. And it has the added bonus that, if they do figure out that it’s serious, they’re in position to take the next steps, too (which are also their job).

Everyone knows that Deep Web hit men are expert in IP routers. They can find all your posts and know exactly what you’re going to do because you’re talking about every aspect of your planning. Now he knows that you’re going to a lawyer, he can lay traps at every law firm in your town, just waiting for you to show up and these traps won’t bother people who are just doing normal, non-defense-against-a-hit man business.
Is your adversary a good negotiator? I bet he can find this Deep Web hit man and bargain him down on price. It is a buyer’s market right now since the Deep Web police have been making lots of arrests. The Deep Web hit men that are left are the best - survival of the fittest.

Sorry, but this is a seriously dumb idea. You have absolutely no means to do this. The police may not either, but they can make a credible threat – let him know that if something happens to you, they will be looking at him very closely and for evidence that will link him to an attack.
That might be enough to deter him. It might not, but it’s more than you have any power to do.
