And despite my misgivings, I actually got a good rating! I got a little “ding” on not having a lot of sick leave but the guy who is my “new” boss is pretty decent. The fellow I worked for from 1996-last October was an okay guy but the longer he was here, the more pissed off at the way state government works he got. By the time he left, he’d pretty much decided not to do anything but show up for work, which meant that I didn’t have a performance eval for nearly 3 years. So if I’d wanted a raise, I couldn’t have justified it as I didn’t have any paperwork to back it up.
I’m still pleasantly shocked, and quite happy. My boss didn’t schedule the meeting till about 15 min beforehand, so I didn’t have any time to get nervous or upset about it. I’m pretty pleased with myself
