Buy.
Larger.
Reusable.
Bags.
You stupid, stupid fucknugget.
And before anyone shows up to post links showing how filthy reusable bags can get…I have several bags ranging in size from ‘big tote’ to ‘largish purse’ that are made of a canvas-type material. They’re durable, they hold a lot, and they’re washable.
You could buy a shopping cart that fold up and bring that with you then you can put more food into it. Or use a backpack too,
shopping cart that folds up would have been cool when I live around the corner from the market last year. Now I live about 10 blocks away
Here are some choices:
- Buy reusable cloth bags
- Get a folding cart and actually take it 10 whole blocks
- Shut the fuck up and live with the small bags.
- Don’t buy groceries. Go hungry.
Number 1 makes sense
Number 2 sounds insane
Except that’s exactly what they are designed for.
Why? You did notice the adjective “folding”? He’s not talking about the ones (at least I assume he isn’t) that you use to carry your stuff inside a grocery store. See for instance Basket Liner Shopping Cart Laundry Grocery Trolley Folding Utility Black for sale online | eBay. Just pull it behind you as you go to/from the store.
Move closer to the store.
I was living around the corner but my apt building was sold which is why I don’t live in walking distance
Based on post 19 you do live within walking distance. A folding cart would mean you wouldn’t “walking down the street with 10 bags” - they go in the cart. Once they are in the cart you aren’t carrying anything - just either pushing or pulling (most likely pulling) the cart, making use of its wheels.
That is fine if the weather is nice but walking 10 blocks in the cold or heat is not a good idea.
And how is that relevant to your original concern of only being able to get small bags? The weather doesn’t change if you have big bags.
I still have to walk about 4 blocks to the trolley to go home so carrying those small bags which sometimes can be difficult. The main things I get is juice and water to last me for the week and can be quite heavy
I use to live in Northern Ca. and would walk 8 miles with a duffle bag weighting 50 lbs. or more before getting a ride from someone. A guy stopped for me and when he picked up my duffle bag he said I was strong for a little woman. I had my food and clean laundry and dog food to carry too. This was all on a mountain side road I walked . If you’re a senior citizen call COA and get a ride from them . I walked everywhere when I was younger 10 blocks was nothing to me.
Wait, so you think that you can’t carry as much because the bags are smaller? What? The bags weigh nearly nothing. If it’s the same amount of food, it’s the same amount of weight.
This makes no fucking sense. WHY DOESN’T THIS THREAD MAKE SENSE?
Yes! That is the kind I was talking about , I have seen people put it right inside the grocery store shopping cart while doing their shopping. It would fit right into handle of the wagon . Or you just put the food in it like you said .
Since the bags are smaller, the water and juice that I buy creates more bags to carry when walking down the street.
The number of bags does not change the total weight by any appreciable amount.
If i am buying food and juice it creates a lot of bags. That;s why I started shopping at Trader’s Joes because they have a nice size brown bag with handles
