I had to change my way of food shopping because of the new small bags

I actually like the size of those bags. The bags at the market I go to are smaller than those

They are small, because they are meant to go into cars. In my part of California they are gone. Reusable bags are bigger, stronger, and not that expensive. I got to choose what we gave away at my conference, and we gave them away for a few years. I’ve got tons, and they have never broken after several years of weekly use. Their handles are better also.

I don’t think they are small because they are meant to go into cars, but they are small because can’t take the same load as the paper - especially the handles, and can fail much more catastrophically than paper, though paper can fail too.

Purchase one of the large bags inside the supermarket tonight which was only 99 cents

Bag holds a lot and no more walking down the street with tons of small bags in my hands.

Can’t wait to see what crisis you derp your way through next.

Thank GOD for that! We’ll call off the National Guard, shall we?

I will give you the honor of doing this ! LOL !

But did the big bag weigh less than the small bags combined? Enquiring minds want to know!!!

Felt like it which is why my shopping experience will be less annoying

So re-use your Trader Joe’s bags.

don’t need to because this new bag I purchased can be folded up and fits inside my pocket

How is carrying a bag 10 blocks easier than pulling a folding shopping cart???

Personally, I prefer my hands free, which is accomplished with a shouldered shopping bag. But my walk is only 6 blocks; clearly so far less onerous than the OP’s plight that it wasn’t worth mentioning.

i said a large bag, nothing about a shopping cart

60% of his walk. By my conversion table, you are a kilometer of delight to his mile of suffering.

LOL! I heard Jerry Seinfeld’s voice my head when I read jsgoddess’ post.

But WE suggested a shopping cart. The question stands.

I don’t walk ten blocks, i catch a bus. I have no energy to walk ten blocks on a friday evening after working all week.

Shopping cart is for someone who

  1. Lives 4 to 5 blocks away

  2. Goes to the supermarket on days they don’t work
I don’t fall into either category

"shopping cart that folds up would have been cool when I live around the corner from the market last year. Now I live about 10 blocks away " post #25 you said this

So why did you originally say you lived " 10 blocked away" ? I was quoting what you said .

I have a bigger bag now to work 4 blocks to the bus which takes me the remaining 6 blocks home. Shopping cart is for people who live a short distance away from the market

My grandmom used a cart for years because she only lived 3 blocks from the food market
