I had totally forgotten that {blank} was hot!

There used to be a joke, back when both Brando and Elizabeth Taylor were alive and morbidly obese, about a guy who complained that when he was younger he had fantasized about being married to someone who looked like Taylor and his wife had fantasized the same about Brando, and now they both had their wish.

Saw an episode of Bewitched the other day for the first time in maybe twenty years and I have to say whoever cast pretty much all the female roles had a very dirty mind…

Not quite the same, but I remember watching Animal House when VCRs were just coming out and thinking Verna Bloom, who played Marion Wormer was just some old woman and didn’t pay her much mind. A few years ago I watched it again and was surprised to find she was quite attractive.

I was thinking of the opposite situation than the Elizabeth Taylor/ Marlon Brando thing.

Now that I’m older myself, I frequently watch an old movie or show with a lead actor who never registered with me at the time because I was too young and he seemed ‘old.’ Telly Savalas is a good example of this. When he was on Kojack in the 70s people often talked about how sexy he was. I – in my teens at the time – didn’t get it at all. Well, now I’m 48 and I saw an episode of Kojack a couple of weeks ago… Ding Dong! Now I get it!

ETA: Cumberdale and I had the same thought, it looks like!

Gary Sandy (Andy Travis on WKRP in Cincinatti) was the hottest male actor in the history of television, and I can’t fathom why Loni Anderson dumped him for skeevy Burt Reynolds.

Gloria Stuart (old Rose in Titanic) was extremely beautiful back in the 30’s, much prettier than even Jean Harlow, IMO.

Back before my hormone pumps kicked in I’d watch Gilligan’s Island every day after school. Ginger (Tina Louise) the movie star was supposed to be the ‘hot’ one.

A few years back I was channel surfing and hit a rerun. Mary Ann (Dawn Wells) is the one I’d be stranded on a desert island with.

How could anyone forget that Teri Garr is hot??

Besides, Dawn Wells is a stoner…she’s GOT to be more fun.

Th world’s hottest witch. She can ride on my broomstick any day.

I saw Cocktail for the first time in years - when I first watched it it I thought it was a rubbish film but that Elisabeth Shue was possibly the loveliest thing I’d ever seen.

There are only two kinds of straight guys in the world-- Ginger men or Maryann men. I’m a Ginger man myself. She was an Elizabeth Taylor-type glamorous as all get out beauty in her day. Rowwwrrr.

Would that be Acting-Commander Toos from Robots of Death?

Not quite so. I just so happen to be a Ginger AND Maryann man. I must be hungry, because I want them to make me a sandwich.

Good picture of Mary Ann, notice her shorts? The belly button is covered because of network practices and she kept pulling them down while Tina kept showing clevage. Sherwood Schwartz has said he was being made crazy by Tina’s tits, and Dawn’s ass.

I’ll see your witch, and raise you a “Bell, Book, and Candle

I thought she was what was wrong with “Tootsie”. He was leaving her for Jessica Lange? Why? She was sexier and prettier.

Very attractive, but I’ll stick with Elizabeth Montgomery.

Sally Struthers was one hot little fireplug back in “All In the Family.” From Gloria the Hot to Jabba the Hutt.

It’s misleading to say that Dawn Wells was hot. Yes, she most certainly was, but she also still is, even in her 60s. The most recent pictures I’ve seen of her, she was still hotter than Ginger ever was.

Er, make that 70s, actually. Born 1938.

I was watching some classic Trek episodes earlier in the year and the hottery going on there with the female guest of the week was almost unbelievable. Too bad they’re all the high side of 70 now. :frowning:
