Whadya want for it?
Does using these make your power bill go up a lot? My backyard is too shaded to grow herbs or vegetables well, so I’ve been curious about the Aerogarden. I guess it’s too small to grow berries, but I wouldn’t have thought cherry tomatoes would work either.
How much do these things go for?
I’m lucky to have a south-facing sunroom, but it gets cold at night. I can grow herbs in winter, though. I’ve got some hot peppers and yellow heirloom tomatoes doing okay in there. I’m thinking of starting some lettuces and herbs.
Still, I might consider putting an aeroGarden someplace. Can’t have enough greenery in winter.
Do they taste better than store bought? I have planted outside gardens for years. Tomatoes vine ripened and cucumbers are much better from home. Carrots are tastier and you can make your peppers as hot as you want.
Hehe, If you saw some of the engineering that goes into bong construction, you wouldn’t have to worry about a pothead making the neck extendable.

He’d also have to rewire the power cord though. Not impossible, but a plain ol’ grow light from Home Depot’s probably cheaper.
I would pretty much only use it for herbs, and I would so totally use them. I am always ponying up for fresh basil or dill or whatever and I hate paying for it.
It’s about 400 Yen (4$US) for a small handfull of herbs in a Japanese supermarket. And the selection is pretty poor - basil, parsley and mint is about the full extent of what you can buy fresh. Growing our own was kind of out of the question too, because none of our apartment windows have good enough light.
We love to cook, and love to use fresh herbs, so this thread was great news for me! I just ordered one for the wife for Chistmas - she’s going to love it!. Thanks!
