I HATE Dominion Virginia Power!

Ok, this is now becoming a pattern, and it is REALLY pissing me off.

Last month, we paid our electric bill… apparently. The money dissapeared from the account after using a CC to pay online. No worries, right?

Well, the money came back into the account a few weeks later (and we didn’t really notice, we weren’t paying attention at that point). And dominion never bothered to TELL me that they rejected our payment for some reason.

At that point, I was thinking – OK… my mistake. Maybe I miscalculated a few of the numbers in the bank accounts. It happens, not the end of the world.

I was a little pissed off when I got my next bill from them saying that I now owed them something like $300.

Well, ok, since our last payment was rejected for some reason, it makes sense. I now owe them for a few months. No biggie.

Last week, I paid the full balance again, with a CC, and watched the money dissapear from the account (and there was PLENTY of money in there).

Now, the money is back in the account. At no point was my balance lower than what I owed dominion. I have received no notification from the bank or dominion saying that they rejected my payment.

Now this is just ridiculous. If those syphilitic donkey-felching troglodytes don’t want my money, then fine… I don’t see why I should give it to them. Unfortunately, I’m a little dependent on my electricity.

So far my phone calls to them have gotten me absolutely NOWHERE.

Bastards. I guess I’m either going by their office to give them a money order, since I’m afraid if I mail it, it will become “lost in the mail”.

Shit fuck goddam motherfucker asshat bastards.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a company refusing payment. It’d be one thing if your CC was declined, but that’s not happening… Definitely odd! How about calling them before stopping by? Save you a trip, maybe?

I guess I’m unfamiliar with the wonders of electronic banking. I’m assuming CC = cashier’s check. You can have one of those in electronic form, now?

I dunno, I had to deal with them today about an urgent matter (we messed up some paperwork when we leased our apartment last month and were about to get our power shut off) and they were very helpful and cooperative. And our power is still on.

It’s probably credit card.

Ah, the Internet. So wonderful, and yet so terrible at the same time.

Yeah. it was a credit card. It just isn’t good enough for them, apparently. sigh Oh well, these things happen, but it really ticks me off to think my bills are paid, and then 2-3 weeks later find out that they were just kidding when they said they accepted the payment.

See, that’s bullshit, TTO. If the money was debited, then they accepted payment. They can’t send it back and claim you never sent it.

I guess you don’t have an alternative for electricity, right? Shame. But they shouldn’t be pulling this shit on you.

It might be that your online payments are going to the wrong department and a computer program somewhere is returning the money. Your bank wouldn’t have any indication that anything is wrong-the transaction went through, then a separate transaction put money into your account. As far as they as concerned the two transactions were perfectly normal. You need to find out if the funds are going to the place where they were supposed to go in the first place, and if not, make the necessary corrections.

BTW, doesn’t Dominion Virginia Power sound like a character from the series Dynasty?

Yeah, but less intelligent.

Hrm, I pay my Dominion Power bills online too, but I do it by bank draft.

I don’t think they’re creditting the bill back but the bills have been kind of weird lately…

Erk. Now I’m going to obsess.

They just started doing this in the past couple months… so maybe they switched accounting systems or something.

I’m usually not one to get real ticked off by stuff like this, but it does really piss me off when the consequences of their mistakes are that my power gets shut off.

I’ll probably work up the resolve to deal with them on the phone today again… grr…
