I hate dotted capital letter "I"

Sesame Street speaks.

I see these guy’s CiNTAS trucks every dAy and I crInge, twIce.

I absolutely love diacritics.

That’s because you took out the part with the trick that kept my original line all-capped.

I don’t dot any of my I’s or J’s, upper or lower case. I also write the bits of the letter K too far apart sometimes so it looks like “l s” and I don’t put a tail on my lower-case g’s, so it looks exactly the same as a q. My lower case r’s have also been mistaken for v’s.

Should I assume I’ll be first against the wall?

Ugh, our gas stations have started being taken over by some bloody company called RUBiS

The i doesn’t bother me so much as the fact that nobody naming that company never thought of the possibility about how the name could be drastically changed with the application of some paint to the lower part of the “R.” :smack:

 They’ve put the signs quite high up though, I’ll need someone to hold the ladder. What you doing at about 3am?

Uh oh. I write in all caps except for a dotted capital I and J. I always have. I mean, even my official signature is like that. It’s because when I write them with serifs, they look ugly. Something to do with being left-handed? I don’t know. Plus, I always loved the way Arabic and Sanskrit look, with their dots and flourishes.

But unless you had to wade through some handwritten junior-high-school essay of mine, I don’t see how I could have pissed you off.

I cross my 7s and Zs too. If I could remember the formatting for strikeouts, I would have done that here, just to be annoying.

One of the things I remember my high school art teacher impressing upon me, lo those many years ago, is that it is Wrong to write capital I and J with serifs in an otherwise sans-serif font.

A news reader here got in trouble for reading “Kim Jong Il” as “Kim Jong Deux.” No doubt she was confused by the presence of Kim Jong Un.

Not only do Koreans have weird age systems, which I would blame on the Kims trying to one-up Westerners’ ages if I didn’t know SK did this too, but they count their numbers backwards! Next up, Kim Jong-zéro.
