I hate Jimmy Kimmel

I’m just waiting for attractive people to start getting shows again. Kimmel is more annoying than a drunken fratboy.

Of course, those of you saying Conan is funny - I’m assuming that you felt that Conan was funny right from the get-go? Give Kimmel a few months to find his feet, Conan wasn’t really funny for the first season and NBC gave him time and now he’s my favorite. I’ve liked Kimmel from his days with KROQ, he works really hard and he’s made me laugh on every single one of his projects so far.

As for the ABC affiliate, Munch, I didn’t watch the reruns, but I am assuming they are syndicated.

I agree, Neurotik, Conan struggled in the beginning - because the show wasn’t as good then. It took a while.

I don’t like the Man Show, but for whatever reason, I find Kimmel funny in interviews, and situations where he needs to be spontaneous.

Yeah, Conan was terrible for at least a year.

I’ve never been a big fan of Jimmy Kimmel, but since he started doing the NFL on Fox, he’s grown on me, and I have to say I thought his show last night was surprisingly good. Snoop Dog and George Clooney rattling off swear words to see what will get past the censors. Cutting to a satellite interview with John Gruden and getting just a shot of a fern and some producer saying through the headset, ‘uh, sorry Jimmy. He left.’ Sapp asking what ‘sashay’ means. The whole thing came off like a couple of guys just hanging out talking, which was kind of refreshing compared to all the rigidly scripted interviews you see on every other talk show.

Kimmel has also been shockingly good at predicting winners of football games, and he’s buried Bradshaw, Long, and the other professional football guys on the show.

And of course the best part about that was Snoop Dogg’s answer, which wasn’t Dictionary perfect, but explained it perfectly to Warren Sapp. Those kinds of moments made it a success, IMO.

I want to give it a chance b/c of Joel, and also The Sports Guy is a writer on his show, and I’ve been amused by his columns on ESPN from time to time.

Yes Dooku the fabulous “Sports Guy” writes the funniest most testostorone laden column on the net - its on “Page 2” at espn.com - because of him and the aforementioned Joel Iwill certainly give Kimmels show a chance. It will take time for the show to find its stride . . . but with all the haters out there (and in here) it may not get the time it needs to be successful. That would be too bad.

And was part of David Letterman’s almost 20 years ago.

Was not even mildly amusing.
Won’t watch again.

Dooku and NothingMan got it absolutely right. The aforementioned Joel Hodgson, The Sports Guy (aka Bill Simmons), Steve O’Donnell (former Letterman head writer in the 80’s and early 90’s), and Adam Carolla (who is FUNNY, dammit) are all on the writing staff.

George Clooney (coming out on stage with a bottle of vodka and three glasses!) was great and Snoop Dogg was a freaking RIOT. Even Jimmy himself was kind of funny.

I seriously don’t see how so many people could have disliked this show so strongly. I thought it was fantastic. I will be watching it again.

IMHO Conan is as funny as curdled milk.

Well, I have to be honest here - curdled milk is pretty funny when used properly.

I could care less about Jimmy Kimmel, but I do find Adam Carolla funny - at least on Love Line (radio), which is the only place I’ve ever seen/heard him.

And the Sports Guy - man, I’m hoping he didn’t make a huge mistake taking up this gig - he is hilarious on page 2.

Jimmy Kimmel is the end result when the showbiz maxim to “always leave them wanting more” collides with the ever decreasing attention span. And I don’t mean that in a good way.

Oh, and Celine Dion didn’t sing the national anthem, she sang “God Bless America”. Gleeful disregard for the facts can take someone a long way these days.

They took off Up Close for this?

After tonight’s show, I think the answer is clear: replace Kimmel with Snoop Dogg. “Blizzle Dizzle” was funnier than anything that came out of Kimmel’s mouth.
