I Hate the new 50 Cent CD!!!

Don’t get me wrong, the music itself is okay, it’s the CD I have a problem with.

My fucking CD player can’t read it!

Well, it can read it. My CD player reads it just fine. But, if I want to skip ahead to say track 12, forget about it! My player just moans and whines for a few seconds, then gives up.

The same thing happened with my No Doubt CD, but my player’s gotten over that.

It’s annoying.

Anyone else had any trouble like this.

I was with you the whole way until you used the first comma.

Right after that is where you lose me.

50 cent CD? Errrr?

I am just a caveman! I do not understand your modern ways!

Well, you get what you pay for. A 50-cent CD is bound to give you troubles.

Which No Doubt CD?

Maybe there’s an extra-long track, or there’s “Enhanced CD” material in a weird place. Is the player particularly old/cheap? Could you rip and re-burn it (for yourself, dammit)?

And “50 Cent” is the name of a musician, so the phrase “50 Cent CD” refers to a release of that artist.

Aaaahhh…what sort of music?

The anti-RIAA-activist in me proclaims it to be a copy protection scheme.

The rational part in me, however, doubts that. At least without further tests. Can you copy it?

He’s a rapper, http://50cent.com (I’d link, but it’s a horrible, horrible website). I beleive he’s part of Eminem’s posse.

Oh my god this is so funny. Yep you get what you paid for…maybe you should get a new cd player? could that be the problem? 50-cent kinda scares me…I think it’s his arms…they look like giant elephant trunks. I think that’s just me.

I was trying (and failing) to be funny.
I know who 50cent is, I just think he’s pretty close to horrible.

did you ask it “21 questions”?
ba duh duhDUMP! thanks you folks I’m here til next thusday!

But I’ll bet Mr. and Mrs. Cent are very proud of him! I hope he puts his little sister, 25, through college with the money he makes from this.

His cousin In Cents smells pretty good too.

Actually, those symptoms are what you would expect with a copy-protected CD.

Take it back to the store. Inform them that it is defective, it will not play in your player. Request another one. Repeat until bored.

Ehhhh, he’s just a two-bit artist, anyway . . .

Musician? I think you’re the one who’s joking.

Wouldn’t that be four-bit artist?

Oh what noncents!

Are you talking about the new CD that came with the DVD or “Get Rich or Die Trying”?

Are you using a portable CD Player? Their tracking ability usually isn’t as good as a component cd player, and sometimes has trouble skipping tracks if the digital mastering of a cd isn’t too good. I don’t know of any good solution to this. Its usually the worst with CD-Rs.
