Have you tried a baking soda paste? Of course you’ll need someone’s help, but you mix baing soda with just enough water to make a paste (not somuch that it’s runny) and slather it on the bites. It takes a few minutes to get to work, but it does help. Even baking soda in the bath will help. I hate mosquito bites. And 832, give or take, is quite a lot to hate.
Well now.
Here I am. Benadryled up. moisture booties in place. Bright pink Aveno lotion dotting my bod. Scatching like a banshee. And a poor fat bunny on a diet in the living room.
And my mom wonders why I’m not married yet…
The 'skeeters usually leave me alone. Except for when they don’t, which is rarely. When they do bother me, though, they’re really, really good at it.
I played Capture the Flag in the park last week with a bunch of high school casual friends. I wore bug spray. I still got 22 mosquito bites. This is more than I’ve gotten in about 4 years of hardly ever wearing bug spray. They’re mostly gone now, though.
Morelin gets mosquito bites in the house, when no mosquitos have been spotted for days, weirdest thing I’ve ever seen.
And I have a Kill On Sight policy regarding bugs (EQ Joke: And dark elves! Nyuck nyuck nyuck!)
Humm. Day 3 and still itchy…
<groan>
I use hot compresses to relieve the itching. They should be as hot as you can stand but not hot enough to burn you. Just apply them for a few seconds.
They’re less itchy now. Hopefully I’ll be able to sleep without Benadryl.
Thanks for the advice guys.
