I got my eyes examined a few days ago. The optometrist told me my right eye has a small cataract, and the best corrected vision he could do for me was 20/40. He referred me to an ophthalmologist who specializes in cataracts. A friend of mine had cataracts in both eyes. He had his natural lenses removed and replaced with artificial ones. He doesn’t need glasses now.
Now, if I have that done on my one cataract, how the heck can I have good binocular vision, with one natural lens, looking through a trifocal pair of glasses, and one fixed focus lens on the other side? I get a little dizzy just thinking about it.
So as to set up the ancient cataract joke, I should tell you that I drive a GMC pickup truck.
