and yes, it is mundane, but I’ve wondered about it from time to time. I’m having a hard time, though, figuring out how to word the question so that it does not come out the wrong way! LOL Oh well, I’ll just go ahead and put it out there. Please don’t jump on me, I’m trying not to be politcally uncorrect!
Living in a fairly culturally diverse area, I see and notice a lot of folks from other cultures. One thing that I’ve noticed and pondered over is that some older women (over 50/60) who also appear to be from a Central or South American culture wear scarves on their heads–sometimes frilly, lacy, sort of like a mantilla, but not. Many times, it reminds me of a nun’s habit (not sure what the head covering a nun wears is called; I’m not Catholic), although not the “old-style” ones–the ones that nuns started wearing in the 70s. Is this a religious thing? I don’t think the women I’ve seen dressed like this are nuns, btw. LOL I hope I’ve been able to convey what I’m talking about!
The reason I bring this up is that this week I’ve seen two women like this, most recently this afternoon on the bus on the way home. Apologies to anyone I might have offended.
