Don’t use a BB gun, that could put holes in your siding.
You can use a sprayer attachment on your garden hose, and just wet him down when he starts drumming on your house. It’ll annoy him & usually make him leave, without hurting him.
Or just wait a bit, until he either attracts a mate or decides there are no females in this vicinity, and he goes elsewhere.
Well the damn thing was back today. It only lasted for an hour or so. It really reverbs through my office, but isn’t so bad if I’m watching TV. (an excuse push off my work load.)

On third thought – Either way, if you throw a rock at it and hit it, it should stop pounding the siding. However, the alternate noise may be more objectionable.
The siding is aluminum. Aluminum is a conductor. That’s all I’m gonna say.
