I have become an energy drink whore

Every morning on my way to work, I stop at the convenience store and purchase an energy drink. Not one of the small 8 ounce cans like Red Bull, but one of the 16 ounce cans. Monster Energy Drink, Full Throttle, even one called Super Rooster Booster. These drinks are great because you get 16 ounces for the same price as 8 ounces of Red Bull or Amp.

Now, over the course of the last 10 days or so, I have been buying two 16 oz. cans on my way in to work. I will drink one soon after I arrive, and guzzle the second perhaps an hour or two after that.

I am sure that it is the caffeine in these drinks that keeps me coming back. Sure, they list all sorts of other ingredients such as L-Carnitine, Ginseng, Gingko Biloba, Wise Ancient Tiger Testes, Guarana, blah, blah blah…but its the caffeine. Sweet, glorious caffeine!

My current favorite is the Monster energy drink. It has a pleasing tangy flavor that keeps me coming back for more. A 16 ounce can is $1.99. Over the last month I have probably spent more than $70 on Monster energy drink alone…

Is anyone else here an energy drink whore like I am? Don’t be ashamed, stand proud!

OMG the same things has been happening to me, although I’ve been getting the RockStar brand much lately.

It is soooo stupid, and it all adds up so quickly, but nevertheless, I’m baffled by how many times I’m tempted to go in and get one of these. Some of them are even $2.19 or more. Monster is good (haven’t they evolved to 22 oz yet?) and I’ve had probably every kind (found one called PimpJuice the other day).

It’s not like I’m addicted, but looking backwards, adding up the amount of energy drinks I’ve bought over the past 6 months would make me quite irritated, I’m sure.

I might be in the minority here but I like the taste of the Lo-Carb Monster better than the regular Monster energy drink. The whole thing only has 20 calories and is as good as a couple cups of coffee.
