I have been banned from Old Navy

I’d have thought your stripes would protect you from them.

Levi’s makes jeans with 36" inseam but didn’t make Docker’s above 34". When their customer service dept was contacted to inquire why you could get one of their brands but not the other, their agent stated, “we don’t find we have the clientele for that line.”
So what you just said is that tall people don’t like to dress nice. :dubious:

Really? That’s obnoxious - its one of the few places I can find jeans for El Hubbo without having to order them. (He wears a 36 inseam as well.) Matter of fact, we went in there, oh, last year on a lark (because we were trying every other store in the mall!) just to see, and they had them. Oh, frabjous day!

If they don’t carry them anymore, Imma be pissed. Back to ordering from Eddie Bauer, I guess.

I really couldn’t care less about Old Navy.

But I can’t buy shirts from Express unless I order them online. And they no longer carry slacks in my size either. NOT EVEN online. A 36 waist is the largest they make now.

I am a guy with a 36" inseam and I can’t shop at Old Navy either. I have a friend who is a woman with a 36" inseam as well and her solution is to purchase Sevens, True Religions, Rock Republics and all those fancy shmancy jeans online, either from eBay or other sources. Pricier by far than Old Navy but she is a clothes snob so it works for her but she never pays retail. Ever. Her skills at finding sales are quite impressive.

I buy Silvers, because they come in 36" inseam and if I wait, I can get them for under $80… which sucks. However, don’t get me started on finding size 14 (Euro 48.5) shoes. The suckage is even greater!

The odd thing is that evidently richer women are taller. I’m 5’7 and have longish legs for my build. Target regular pants are too short for me. Ann Taylor Loft-ish stores are about right. Banana Republic I always need to have hemmed.

I think sizing has changed a bit. I wore 36 inseam Levi’s for years but they became harder to find. On one shopping trip I couldn’t find any so decided to try a 34 and it fit fine. Back in ancient times before jeans were pre-shrunk I had to get a 38 inseam.

And then they shrink. I fit in the average until the first wash then I go around with highwaters. ugh.

It’s actually a peninsula.

Old navy has men’s 36" inseams?? Sometimes those work for me; all depends on what the manufacturer’s opinion of ‘36’ is.

I share your pain, I too have a 36" inseam (well 35½, but who’s counting?), I have been made to feel like a monster more than once by shops. Well to be precise the people who work in them “it’s your own fault for being too tall”

I’m so sorry, I’ll try being shorter next time!

cries

I feel your pain. I have a 30" waist. Just try finding pant that size. Oh, sure the *say *they have them. You can even find the spot on the shelf where they’re supposed to be, but it’s always empty, or a crappy color.

I had no idea I was sharing a message board with a basketball team. I have a 32" inseam and I’m considered quite tall.

You people with your even inseams disgust me. Try being an odd-number freak like me. Just imagine the emotional pain of searching in vain through all the jeans in a store (even those really ugly things that look like they’re for railroad workers) for a 29" inseam. Then the shame of having to ask a sales “associate” and having them look pityingly at you while pretending to check the stock on their computer. “Oh, we should get some in, so why don’t you check back periodically ::muffles derisive snort of laughter::” Do any of you have any idea what it’s like to have to wear jeans that are too long, shuffling around with frayed cuffs like some hobo?

I thought that was how they were supposed to be. Are you telling me some people aren’t stepping on their cuffs as they walk? Doesn’t that wear out the heels of their shoes?

You people with even numbered inseams suck. I have a 29" inseam. 30"? Pools around my ankles like I’m wearing my daddy’s suit to my first dance.

Trying to find 29" inseams in the store is a nightmare.

EDIT: What Chefguy said.

Wear shorts everywhere.

LOVE that plan, FCM. If only!

34-incher here. Jeans aren’t as bad a problem (thank Og, mens’ jeans fit me!) but womens’ dress slacks are a living nightmare. I’m too tall for the mainstream designs and too short (at almost 5’10"!) for the Tall Shop.

I am considered fairly short, and I have a 31" inseam. So now I must ask you: what traumatic event in your childhood caused you to have such short legs and a long torso? Was it just like a superhero origin story?

If we had a :thumbs up: or :like: button, I’d award it to this post.
